Spotlight Event: Coeur d’Alene Downtown Oktoberfest

September 18th – 19th, 2026 | Downtown Coeur d’Alene, ID

Raise a stein in downtown Coeur d’Alene as participating businesses along the main drag transform into a two-day Oktoberfest celebration, Idaho style. Travel through downtown sampling crisp German-style beers and ciders at stops along the way, with live music, food, and the full energy of a walkable lakeside city in the heart of fall. It’s a great excuse to spend a weekend in CdA as the leaves start to turn and the summer crowds thin out.

Spotlight Event: Spirit of Boise Balloon Classic

September 2nd – 6th, 2026 | Ann Morrison Park, Boise, ID (Launches 7:15am – 9am daily)

September in the Treasure Valley opens with one of its most spectacular annual traditions. The 35th Spirit of Boise Balloon Classic fills the sky above Ann Morrison Park with more than 50 hot air balloons lifting off just after sunrise each morning — and the whole thing is free to watch. The signature Nite Glow event on Friday, September 4 lights up the evening sky as tethered balloons illuminate in the dark from 4pm to 10pm in a display the whole family can enjoy. Come early, bring blankets and a camera, and plan to make a morning of it along the Boise Greenbelt.

Spotlight Event: Twin Falls County Fair & Magic Valley Stampede Rodeo

September 2nd – 7th, 2026 | Twin Falls County Fairgrounds – 215 Fair Ave, Filer, ID 83328 (Gates 10am – 10pm daily)

Southern Idaho’s biggest late-summer tradition returns for six straight days of fair fun and rodeo action in Filer. This year’s theme, “Stars, Stripes, and Stampedes,” brings a patriotic flair to a fair that draws visitors from across the Magic Valley and beyond every Labor Day weekend. Expect PRCA rodeo competition, live grandstand concerts, a carnival midway, livestock shows and exhibits, plus classic fair food at every turn. Admission is just $8 at the gate, making it one of the most affordable family outings of the season. Weekday visits offer shorter lines and a quieter midway — but the holiday weekend brings the biggest crowds, the fullest rodeo schedule, and the most electric atmosphere.
